Christopher's First Hair Cut

Christopher's adorable baby curls had gotten a little out of control, so Conan gave him a hair cut in October. (Yes, he was almost 2 1/2 when he got his hair cut for the first time).
Before: Look how cute it was!
We tied it in ribbons so we could save a curl.
Buzzer time!

That's a lot of hair! I had to hold back the tears when I saw all of it on the ground.
After: Good job Dad!

Halloween

We let Chris pick out his own costume for Halloween this year. He flipped through the catalog and once he saw the Elmo costume he knew that's what he wanted to be.

In the morning we went to a party our apartment put on for the kids. Here's Chris at the concert standing right next to a speaker. I hope he didn't do too much damage to his little poor ears.

Pumpkin kicking, one of Chris' favorite activities.
Dad gave Elmo a ride on his shoulders.
Mom <3's>

Later in the day we went to Chris' friend Delaney's Halloween party. Aren't the kiddos adorable?
They decorated cupcakes. Look closely, you can see the LG dumped the whole container of green sprinkles on his cupcakes : ).
That night we went trick or treating. I love this picture, because you can see how excited Chris was to get candy. It took him a while to understand what was happening. At the first house he tried to walk right inside, but by the end he was running from apartment to apartment.
Chris talked Conan and me into dressing up also. He picked out the costumes, "Daddy be Bert, Mommy be Abby".
We had such a Happy Halloween! I can't wait to see what Chris picks out for us next year.

Week in Ohio

At the beginning of October we went to see my family in Ohio. We timed it so we could see University of Wyoming play. Our flight was delayed because of some issue with it not flying, or something so we had to get on a new one. We made it to Ohio, where it there was torrential rain and drove to Dax's game. We got there just in time for the last half. It was freezing, so Chris and I listened to most of the game in the car. Conan was a trooper and watched all of it outside. At the end of the game we got to catch up with the quarterback...

Dax! It may not look like it in this picture (it was 11 p.m.), but Chris was thrilled to see Dax. He talks about Uncle Dax all of the time now. I'd say he tells us it's Dax's birthday just about everyday.
We stayed with Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen in Ohio. Chris had a blast with them.
He especially loved all of their animals. They have 3 dogs, and his favorite, Izzy the cat. Izzy was the one that didn't want to play with Chris, but he didn't care. He followed her everywhere around the house. My favorite was when he trapped her in the sink to pet her.

Here we are with Matt and my Grandpa at his house. Chris loves Grandpa Carl!

The three of us on the farm!
You can call Conan the cow whisperer. They were scattered all over the place, and as soon as he started mooing they all gathered around.

Chris loved them!
My mom's cousins, "J's" as Conan calls them came over. Julie, Jenny and Jane doing thumbs up with Chris.
Their house is right on a creek, so Conan got lots of fishing in. Chris caught his first fish with Dad. He loved it so much that he wouldn't throw it back, because he wanted to bring it back to the house. Any guesses what he named the fish?
Turtle!

First Day of School

Chris started a pre-preschool at our Y in September. It's two days a week for two hours a day, and he loves it! It's gradually separating, so the moms leave the room for small bits of time until they're gone the whole time. Since Chris and I are together all day, everyday he had a bit of a hard time at first. He's doing great now, and I'm out of the room for most of the class now (even if I am just in a room down the hall from him : ). Here are some pics of his first day of school...

Gramma Kimmy got him this adorable outfit.
Close up!

His Chris backpack. Totally necessary : ).

Where have we been?

Sorry for the lack of posts recently! We're expecting another Little Guy at the end of April!! Mama's been a little tired : ). I have lots to post before the end of the year, but I wanted to post the list of names Chris has picked out for his little brother so far...

Elmo was his first choice. That one lasted a while, but then he forgot about it when he thought of the name... Underwear. Yes, that's a good one too. Now we're on Chri. Yes, he wants to name it his name minus one letter. That works out well if we keep having boys. We can have a Chr, Ch, and just C. This one has stuck for a while, he talks about baby brother Chri all of the time.

Number 18 Guy

Here's a quick story...
Conan always tells Chris he's his #1 guy. Chris has developed quite the sense of humor recently (I actually think he's always had it, he's just more verbal now). So he now tells Dad that he's his #18 guy, and laughs super hard. Today we decided to figure out who was taking up these spots before 18. Here's the list...

1. Christopher
2. Ava
3. Ava's mom
4. Ava's dad
5. Shoe that's all messed up (the shoelace broke on it).
6. Other shoe
7. Mom's jacket

He was laughing so hard by the time he got to seven he couldn't name anymore. You know you're our #1 Guy, Dad!

Week with my parents

My parents were in town in September. The weather was perfect and I think we fit in just about everything you can do in NYC during their visit. We went to a really fun bookstore called Books of Wonder. It's all kid's books and they were happy to let Chris try them out before we bought them. My mom got Chris a Curious George Book and it's still his favorite.

Here's our group shot at the playground. Look at us in short sleeves. I miss September weather!
Sliding!
We went downtown and saw the Statue of Liberty. Here's Chris doing his cute face for Ga Ga.
Conan gave us the Wall Street tour.
The bull! There are about a thousand people around the bull at all times, so it was nice to get this picture.
Here we are at Central Park. We went up to the castle there. Such a great view!
We went to Coney Island also. It was such a nice day on the board walk!
My dad rode rides with the LG. My dad spun him super fast on the hot air balloons, and they both had so much fun!

Chris loved the fire trucks!
Here he is on the airplanes. He's such a big kid, riding all by himself!

We walked around in the water.
And then in the sand.
Then we went to Nathan's and got corndogs! When the LG went back for a nap with Conan my parents and I went to the Empire State building.
Later in the week we went to the 42nd Street NY Public Library. These are the library lions. Chris found the turtles at the bottom of the statue, who knew? He was so excited! Now that Chris loves turtles so much, we've found that they are everywhere!
Speaking of turtles, here's Chris and Gaga at the Chelsea Merry-go-round, on the turtle of course!
We had so much fun with Gaga and Bob!

Soccer!

Conan and Chris started soccer this fall. He has loved it so far.

Hey Chris, what can't you use in soccer?
No hands! (He likes to say no armpits also.)
Nice matching outfits, right?

He's gotten very good at making goals (with a little encouragement from Dad).
