Chris-ism

"Mom, I don't normally like blueberries, but I like the way you make them for me. Are they homemade?"
(As I put frozen blueberries from Trader Joe's in his bowl.) Love this kid!

Reading day

Chris' preschool allows the parents to come in and read to the entire class one time per year. Thursday was his day and Chris was super excited. Conan didn't think he was going to be able to make it because of an auction happening right after at work, but at the last minute he was able to come. We had the whole crew! Bryce was good as I read the first book. He started crying as I started the second. The teacher took over. Then Conan came in and surprised Chris. He was so excited! You should have seen his face when Dad walked in! At the end he told me "Three people read one book during my story time!!". I'm glad he doesn't mind the craziness that is our family!

We're wearing green for the Irish

St. Patrick's Day is here! Chris' school celebrated St. Patrick's Day big last week, and I thought we should continue since the actual day is a Saturday this year. Lucky the leprechaun made a big mess of our living room last night! At least he left us Lucky Charms to make up for it (Chris had never had cereal with marshmallows- it may be the best thing that's ever happened to him). We made green pancakes with spinach and then got some playground time in (the picture is Chris and his name that he wrote in chalk!). For snacks we had Shamrock shakes and dinner was Shepherd's pie. We had a very green and Irish day. Happy St. Patrick's Day, friends!

Spanish class

Bryce loves music. I think he started crawling so he could get to the piano whenever he wants. Bryce fell asleep on the way to Chris' Spanish class the other day. I left him in the stroller beside us, and about half way through I saw a head pop out. I picked Bryce up, but he was bouncing around, trying to get down. As soon as I set him down, he ran-crawled to the teacher playing the guitar. He got on his knees and started dancing, clapping, and doing his best "da da da da da's"!

Happy birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We had a fun time celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday today! We ate green eggs (with spinach) and ham, watched a Dr. Seuss cartoon, and read There's a Map on My Lap. Fun day had by all! Happy TX Independence Day to all my fellow Texans as well!
